At JobSnob, we have the unique opportunity to work with talented medical aesthetic professionals across the nation. To kick it off, we had the opportunity to interview Aesthetic Provider Whitney Carlson, BSN, RN, all the way from the great state of Alaska. Keep reading to hear Whitney’s thoughts on the industry, most valuable injector training, favorite Instagram accounts to follow, and more.JS: How did you end up in the medical aesthetic industry? I was intrigued at the idea of helping patients feel better about themselves, and I had always loved finding and enhancing beauty.JS: What is the best part of your job?WC: When a patient tells me that I’ve helped them feel more confident! Also, when patients send me selfies. Literally the best messages!JS: What are the top 3 treatments/procedures you perform on patients?WC: Botox, HA Filler, and deep chemical peelsJS: What do you most appreciate about our industry?WC: The willingness to share our stories to elevate the industry as a whole. I started in the industry over 10 years ago and medical aesthetics was just beginning. It has grown at warp speed and I love the new generation of thinking of community and elevation! It’s remarkable to have watched this process and I hope to be a part of the “next generation” of aesthetics where safety, transparency, and amazing results are goals that every provider strives for with every patient. I’m honored to know some amazing providers who have become my mentors, and I hope to one day have the opportunity to mentor others and pay it forward.JS: What’s one piece of professional advice you’d give to your younger self?WC: “Work harder than you did yesterday.”JS: What medical aesthetic trend do you caution patients about?WC: Non-surgical rhinoplastyJS: What and where was the best conference or training you’ve attended?WC: Dr. Surek’s Academy for Injection AnatomyJS: What are 3 skincare products you can’t live without?WC: All ZO: Exfoliating Polish, Oil Control Pads and Daily Power Defense. I have watched every single episode!JS: Where and with whom do you spend your weekends or time off?WC: I work most weekends for my patients who need Saturday appointments.
